Lisa Pavelka will be your guide to multiple technique workshops where you'll learn these exciting design concepts and techniques that will expand your creative repertoire with concepts that are easily adapted to other types of clay projects and mixed media work. Students only need to bring a clay dedicated pasta machine and clamp.

Day 1 Agenda (Thursday September 5, 2019) - Meet & Greet Pizza Party & Demo
Arrive at the resort, settle in, relax, take a swim, or whatever, at 6:00pm, we’ll gather for pizza, salad, and treats, followed by a short and sweet demo by Lisa. Did we say there was going to be wine?
Day 2 Agenda (Friday September 6, 2019) - Clamshell Abacuss Pearl Cuff & Potluck
Learn how to create an anticlastic form in polymer clay to create this gorgeous and comfortable cuff bracelet that is sure to turn heads. We'll create two, simple millifiori designs in a monochromatic palette. From there, you'll learn how to add kinetic sliding pearl accents that resemble the beads on an abacus. Learn how to work using heat setting technique for ease of complex creations in your clay work. A bonus demonstration on how to achieve satin-smooth polished surfaces on cured clay.
At 6:00pm, well meet for a potluck. Participants can contribute anything they like, but there's no obligation to bring anything, just come and eat! Wine again???
Day 3 Agenda (Saturday September 7, 2019) - Solder-Less "Silver" Bezel Frames for Clay Effects followed by Winery Tour and Gourmet Winery Banquet
Saturday's workshop will focus on creating professional looking bezel settings using inexpensive findings to create a textured metal focal frame that can be used to fill with numerous materials and techniques. But, we'll learn how to how to create Lisa's "Pavelkite" Fauxpal (faux opal) effect with an exciting new product. Lisa will demonstrate how switching substrate colors will impact the finished color and reflectivity of your finished piece. Then you'll get to see just how easy it is to get glass-like finishes using using quick cure resin in addition to creating two types of hidden suspensions. Lisa will demonstrate how to create precision striping to use as optional border embellishement.
At 6:00, we'll meet up for a behind-the-scenes tour of the winery, followed by a gourmet dining experience in a private room overlooking the winery. Chef Michael will prepare a delicious dinner paired with a wine tasting experience.
Day 4 (Sunday September 8, 2019) Check-out and Goodbye
Collect your belongings by noon, wish everyone adieu and pilfer some snacks on your way out.
